A RomCom for Every Mood You Can Experience in “These Times”

The romantic comedy is one of the few pleasures we have left.

Though I consider myself a practical person, the burden of cynicism leaves my body the second Julia Roberts hits the screen. Suddenly I no longer need to add the woozy emoji to everything to appear aloof. I’m allowed to earnestly enjoy plots that feel like an accusation in the game CLUE (e.g. “It was Meg Ryan in the bookstore with the enemies-to-lovers storyline.”) I frequently find myself chasing this high in our current hellscape.
